POSITION SUMMARY: Cook is an essential part of the Dacha team who, along with other team members, contributes to the superb and unique customer experience. Assist the Executive Chef in executing menu according to an outlined direction with consistency and speed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: (Other duties will be assigned as needed.) Must be willing and able to do the following:
- Ensure that every guest receives exceptional overall experience.
- Setup, breakdown and maintain a clean and stocked station by executing all opening, running and closing sidework. This includes, but is not limited to, prepping mis en place, organizing coolers, wiping down all equipment.
- Adhere to all Dacha recipes including proper measurements, ingredients, and garnishes.
- Assist chef to execute service.
- Put away deliveries in accordance with internal guidelines and heath department regulations.
- Prepare protein counts, produce orders, etc. on a nightly basis.
- Maintain supportive and cooperative relationship with the front of house (FOH) staff.
- Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.
- Understand and adhere to sanitation/safety guidelines and procedures.
- Be example of teamwork with both FOH and BOH co-workers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Accept direction and constructive criticism from superiors.
- Perform calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand both oral and written instructions in English language.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Thorough knowledge of safe food handling practices and DOH standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for 12 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to frequently grasp and hold objects with hands
- Ability to handle knives, fryers, slicers, rational ovens, sous vide machines, and open flames.
